LOVE this website!
Love these calendars and get one each year! The fairy houses get more detailed each time. I just bought 5 extra to give as presents. Feels like having a flower arrangement on your wall. You can almost smell them sometimes. Lots of ideas for doing your own flower sculptures too.
I have been collecting “bits & pieces” of materials to build some Fairy Houses, but I wasn’t feeling inspired to attempt putting them together until I found this book and the two calendars that are also available with photos of these wonderfully artistic little houses! Every time that I look at them it makes my heart beat faster. I am a craftsman and I am not interested in following someone else’s instructions but I find it so helpful to see new methods, new ideas and just totally inspiring photographs to spur my own imagination. But, I so love the little castle that is pictured on the cover that I think I will have to make one very similar just to have it in my possession. I love this book and would love it even if I didn’t want to make any houses! – Fairy Houses Builder’s guide
This is a beautiful book! The magical little houses are in the perfect settings and almost make me wish I were a faerie so I could live in them. Expertly photographed, the art in this book would be more at home displayed on walls than between covers. Sally does exquisite work, and details it on her delightful blog. I thoroughly enjoy everything she shares with us! – Faerie Houses book from Lulu
Sally Smith’s work is always a delight.
Spirals are one of my favorite geometric shapes and Sally’s environmental sculptures using the spiral design are evocative, meditative, and calming. Need to relax after a visually challenging day? Find relief by viewing this book. – Spirals,Spirals Book
The most inspiring and wonderful book you could ever see ! My copy came yesterday and I have already been outside searching for things to create my own fairy dwelling. I am 67 years young and have loved the fairies all my life. What fun to see all of the ideas and natural objects that can go into a little house. The hardest part will be deciding what to make first. Thank you, Sally, for sharing your magical vision with the rest of us ! – Kay March 3,2018 via Amazon – Fairy Houses Builders book
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Enchanting!
So thrilled it met my expectations. I won’t go into all the details about how long it took me to get my calendar, and I was afraid when I finally got it that it would disappoint me. But it didn’t! The photos are gorgeous, and the whimsy-loving, enchanting-seeking me fell in love instantly with each and every faerie house. I will probably keep this calendar forever because the photos take my breath away and inspire my imagination–totally fanciful and awe-inspiring! I can see wanting to recreate these images and others in my arty attempts–whether in the garden, or in my mosaic creations or in watercolor–you name it. Sheer delight and rainbow-bubble bliss! – Anonymous – Amber Lotus Calendar _UK_31 March 2016 – Published on Amazon.com
Never have I found a book that so resonated with my soul. I have been making and enjoying fairy houses since I was small. This book is a treasure of which I purchased for myself. I am spending my Christmas morning pouring through the pages. Thank you Sally J. Smith for creating a book and a world in which our imaginations can soar. I absolutely love it. I am thrilled to learn all the materials and tools that you have found that help you create your whimsical houses. If you purchase, you will not be disappointed! – Karen Copus 12, 25, 2017 Via Amazon re: Fairy Houses Builder’s guide
Quite cool! I could see [ONE] playing in hospitals, waiting rooms, restaurants, spas, etc.
I think this will be my favorite meditation, just to put in your DVD and get lost in a total feast of beauty for the senses, nature, music, colors, ahhh. Your art is so exquisite. I love seeing it shared in this form. The DVD is truly extraordinary and I plan to purchase many more as gifts.
The DVD arrived today and I just finished watching it. I’m breathless … with tear-filled eyes … deeply touched … and full of joy and peace and wonder and blessing. Thank you for creating and capturing such beauty within nature.
