Dear Friends,
I’ve just come home from a whirlwind visit to the exhibition at the New England Botanic Gardens to see the Enchanted Forest in its full glory both during the day and at night for the Fairies Aglow viewing. As I mentioned in my last post, I had been unable to see the night-time showing because though we had taken a week to set up the lighted fairy-houses the additional lights for the gardens themselves were not yet fully installed so I did not know what the full effect would be… until now. I must say…. the Fairies Aglow experience took my breath away! There are many other additional attractions to this evening event so it really is fun for the whole family to attend.
Previously, the night-time shows had been sold out before they even had opened for their first event! But because of this success they have managed to open up a few more nights (see here for tickets ) and added Saturdays to the calendar too for your viewing enjoyment. So if you can possibly go I think you will not be disappointed, but you really should reserve your tickets now as they probably will be sold out if you try to buy at the door. When you use the calendar link for (tickets), look for Friday and Saturday viewings for “Fairies Aglow” then look to see what time slots are available to order your tickets online.
But order now as they are selling FAST!!
After you check-in, you will walk to the beginning of the lighted walkway that leads you to the Enchanted forest
Upon arriving at the Enchanted Forest garden you go thru a gorgeous lighted archway… be sure to catch the fairy houses on either side!
The path is very well lit so it is quite safe for little ones.
The lighted fairy houses have been enhanced dramatically with additional lighting features designed and installed by the staff at the gardens. The lights are truly amazing!
Some of the fairy houses are so popular there are lines to take photos (which was very humbling for me to witness)
The night we were there a harpist was playing beautiful celtic-type music which was piped thru the garden and added an additional layer of delight to the experience.
The houses are at all different levels but all are placed close enough to the path to be easily seen. Be sure to look down and up as well as at eye level!
Individual houses look amazing all lit up.
The whole experience was wonderfully magical…. and even though I had a part in creating it, it was incredible to finally be able to experience the completed result of our collaborative process. It was more impressive than I could have ever dreamed! I’m so grateful to have been invited to help co-create such an enchanting show for all who are able to come and see. If you are anywhere near Boston, I hope you get to see this before it is over on October 28th. A BIG shout out to the amazing staff at NEBG for making the evening viewing so exciting and successful!
