Sharing the Light

October 13, 2018 Leave a Comment

Dear readers,

I had made a promise to myself when I created this new website (and blog) that I would share only “good” news… uplifting stores and/or inspiration. It seemed to me that there was more than enough negative stuff filling our digital (and actual) lives these days. That said, it has become increasingly challenging to keep one’s spirits and creativity up when there are so many serious and truly tragic events happening in the world at large. My own little world has not escaped dark clouds either but I have managed to make a few new fairy house sculptures which I will share soon.

What has moved me in this moment to write is an opportunity for us all to literally share some light, with each other and with parts of the world near and far who are in need of light. I’m talking about solar light, that is. Years ago, two clever and inspired women figured out how to make amazing little portable solar lights. They started a Kickstarter campaign right after the earthquake in Haiti and part of their fundraising included sending free lights to Haiti earthquake victims. I bought several of their lights for myself and to give as gifts. They are fantastic lights that are still working perfectly years later. The power goes off a lot here in the rural northwoods so I have them set up to always be charging up just in case I need them. MUCH better and safer than candles.

The company is now offering a brand new product that I think we all may need in the future… a larger solar light with built-in phone charging capacity. Of course products like this already exist, but here’s what makes these lights special: when you buy them, you automatically will be helping donate free lights to places that really need them.

Here is a link to use to see their new light: https://cfb00c33.kckb.st

When you go to this page you can read about their new light/power design and of course place an order if you like. If you want to just donate to their relief campaigns you can do that too. This company has really figured out how to do something wonderful for millions and millions of people. This is not a scam or a company that skims the cream for themselves. They are the real deal. Making clever products that genuinely improve peoples lives.

If you want to read the inspiring story of how this visionary company came to be you can read about them HERE .

Full disclosure: the link to the new light will take you to their Indiegogo campaign which just started recently. You can get up to 40% off the coming retail price if you back the campaign now. I am an affiliate (you can be too!) because I believe so strongly in this company and I like to promote them whenever I can. I hope you will find their story and their products as illuminating as I do !  (Ok I know that was a bad pun, but we all need a laugh these days!)

Enjoy!!!
